Dentures

Dentures can be divided into full, or complete dentures and partial dentures.

Removable partial dentures can be a way to replace several missing teeth while maintaining some natural teeth to help retain the partial denture.  There are a few different types of removable partial dentures: cast metal partial dentures, flexible acrylic partial dentures, and hard acrylic partial dentures (flippers).  There are advantages and disadvantages to each type.

Complete of full dentures are fabricated when all of the natural teeth are missing.  Conventional dentures rest on the gingiva and rely on the gingiva/bone structure to allow the denture to retain and function.  A much more rewarding treatment involves using dental implants to help retain the denture and increase the function greatly.
